I'm new to byc but have had a small flock for a little over a year. One of my year old red sex links started with no normal behavoir yesterday. She is very lethargic and has a consistant milky white and sticky poo. In fact her butt is a mess! At first we thought she might be egg bound but i think we've ruled that out. She did get out a forage a bit yesterday afternoon and i did get her to eat some bread soak in oil. Otherwise she doesn't seem to be intrested in eating. This morning she is just standing out in the run motionless and looking miserable. Any advice?

I looked up in my chicken health book her age and white droppings. chalky white droppings could indicate oviduct flukes
early symptoms of infection include droopiness; weight loss; chalky White droppings; reduced egg production; not wanting to eat and sometimes a soft shell egg. flukes can be treated with worming. if this is what's going on. it seems symptoms fit but the only symptoms I went off of was the droopiness and white droppings. if there are ANY other symptoms it could be something else. but if that is her ONLY symptoms then it seems to fit . take a look at the symptoms and see what you think. I found this off the droppings page of chicken Heath book. white droppings can be a sign of other illness's too but they involve other symptoms. you might also want to give a probotics to help with the loose stool. if you notice any more symptoms please post and I'll try to look them up for you. this is just one possibility that can cause those symptoms. hope this is helpful. I would look listen and feel for other symptoms. if none flukes could be a possibility. keep a watchful eye out for other symptoms. I hope she feels better soon. all we can do is give possibilities. this is just one.
