Sick Hen

OK, so I was able to get fluids in her with dropper today, bathed again and found area on stomach hot and swollen, pic shows to right of vent on belly. Also! found this thing in her nest box - see pics below. I have never seen this before. What do you think? I can't take her to the vet so am trying my best to diagnose and treat. I will not let her suffer any more after tomorrow, if I don't see any improvemnt after fluids.

That look like "Lash Egg" or Salpingitis, which is an inflammation of the oviduct due to infection. Sometimes if caught early, antibiotics may help give her some relief/comfort short term, but usually are not that effective.

I'm sorry, I wish I had a better solution for you.

Thanks so much, I looked at the links and it is def a lash egg and she def is showing all the symptoms of Salpingitis. My job today will not be a pleasant one :(

Not sure if this will work for salpingitis but it worked for my septic EYP hen which is pretty similar I guess. I gave her Suprelorin implant which stops her laying for up to 6 months. I had to get it from a vet and it was quite expensive but it worked to treat her EYP
