I have a year old hen snd I found her just sitting on the ground with her head down by the coop. She didn’t even move when I was refilling the water but of course everyone else did. I thought she was dead. I splashed her face gently with some water hoping she might drink but she didn’t. I brought her inside and put her in the sink with a little water she sat down in it.
my son said she was doing that yesterday but
I Didn’t notice her doing that
She’s a barred rock and everyone picks on her but a week ago I bought four new hens which are in molt. She tried to pick on the rooster but he grabbed ahold of her comb and put her on the ground and sat on her.
. But I thought she learned her lesson.
After reading dozens of posts on here and searching symptoms of heat exhaustion etc. I’m at a loss. She’s inside in a cat carrier. I’ve put water in there but no food. I felt her crop and it feels like it’s full of seeds.
I can maybe give her electrolytes but don’t want to make it worse. She just sits and sleeps I don’t think she is eggbound. I can’t feel anything there
she has not pooped so I have no idea what it looks like.
Hope someone has some suggestions!
