I am not sure if my hen is sick or molting? I noticed she was not moving as much as normal and not making any noise yesterday. She was just standing there. She is eating and drinking. She has pooped, but it is watery..kind of milky looking with green poop in it. I have dealt with egghound hens in the past....so I soaked her in an Epsom salt bath yesterday twice for 20 mins each time. She slept soundly through the night (I have a camera in their coop). Any thoughts? Her tail is not droopy, her comb and wattle are a nice red color. Like I said before she is eating and drinking. Just laying around, which is not normal for her. Thanks!
BTW Her name is Comet :)

Can you post photos of her and her poop?

When was her last egg?

Is her crop emptying?

How old is she?

If you suspect she's having problems expelling an egg, give her Extra Calcium. You can find Calcium Citrate+D3 at Walmart, CVS, etc., just pop 1 tablet into the beak once daily for 3-5 days.

If she's molting, you should see signs of that with loss of feathers and new pin feathers emerging.

Check her over for lice/mites and see that her crop is emptying.

Thanks for the reply! She seems 💯 better since yesterday! I don't know what was wrong with her.

Hi! Can I jump in? How do you check their crop? My hen is doing the same thing. Noticed as she stands still that her fluff is moving like a persons chest when breathing. Only two eggs today and four yesterday, one without the shell. I thought it was one of the other hens...This happened last week and she got better and just now doing the same thing.

The crop is on the right side of the breast, it's like a pouch that holds food/water. If the hen has been eating/drinking, you should be able to feel the crop and some fullness.

To check the crop, feel of it first thing in the morning before the hen has had anything to eat/drink, it should be flat or empty.
