I have a 8 to 10 week old pekin duck. She has missing feathers on her side, not using her right leg and now she whistles when she breaths and has green liquid poop. None of my ducks have ever has a solid poop since I got them. She is eating and drinking just fine and is still very alert. She just wont move and whistles when she breaths. No panting. This is my first time ever owning ducks and everything I see makes me feel like shes deathly sick. Not sure what to do. I have no poop pics as of now
sorry for the circumstances. It appears that the duck has been injured in some way. Possibly a pelvic or hip injury. Put antibiotic ointment on the wound, monitor for fly strike, provide Niacin enriched feed and make sure that the rest of the flock is not abusing her. Hopefully she will heal, but it will take time, and she may be permanently lame.
