I have 10 5 week old keets. They have been thriving...eating well and growing. I have been feeding high protein game bird starter. They are currently living in my garage in a large dog crate.

This evening I noticed one of the keets separating from the group and eyes closed. He will open his eyes when the others bump in to him. This is a totally new behavior. Could he be sick or cold?
The current temperature in the garage is 66 degrees but the others appear fine and very active.

I appreciate any feedback.

I would isolate him. Put him in a crate by himself so you can monitor food and water intake. Keep paper towels on the bottom of his perch(preferably white) so we can see what his poop looks like. When you go to move him to his “hospital Home” take the time to look him over. Head to toe front to back right down to his skin. Check his mouth and eyes. Once you’ve done this send us related photos. The better the photo the more we can see what’s going on.

Ok, I tried to quarantine him last night and that didn't go well. Since they are almost 6 weeks old they can fly. After I finally caught him I put him in a container and he repeatedly tried to fly out hitting himself on the screen screeching and causing the others to screech as well. He pooped a lot all over the container, dark brown, wet stool. I thought I might kill them all as a result of the trauma so I put him back in the pet crate with the others. He survived through the night. I have witnessed him drink but not eat. He just sits or slowly walks around closing his eyes until he gets bumped around by others and then will move.
His body looks normal compared to the other keets. None of the other keets have shown any symptoms or odd behavior. My dilemma: I am leaving town tomorrow for 5 days and a neighbor who has chickens is going to keet sit for me. She gave me some medication, Corid for Coccidiosis and Poultry Nutri-Drench. Should I start the flock of 10 on any or both of these treatments or wait until another keet exhibits signs of illness? My neighbor told me she would be happy to start on medication if another becomes ill. This is my first experience with any type of poultry and would appreciate your advice.

Neither will harm any of them and both may help but you cannot mix the corid and nutri-drench in the same water source. I recommend using the corid for 5 - 10 days and then give them the nutri-drench.
