Hello,
Several days ago I bought 6 little keets. They appeared to be very active and healthy. I have lost one, and another has developed the same symptoms.
Here is what I know about them, and what I am doing.
They are supposed to be between a week and about 10 days old.
Most have what I would call Angel Wing if they were geese. Flight feathers turn out and droop.
They are healthy one day, and sick the next.
They sit and act listless. I am probably wrong about this, but they seem to act blind.
They do not eat or drink.
They are in a plastic tote that I clean once each evening.
I am using a lamp for heat. They do not act cold (clumping up together), or hot (trying to get as far from the lamp as possible.
When it is warm, I take them outside and put them in a pen with grass (on the ground), so they get some exercise.
I am feeding them chick starter, medicated with Amprolium. The chick starter contains less protein than keets want, but I have hatched and raised guineas before with chick starter.
Any help appreciated,
John
