I got up this morning to check on my chickens as always and my lavender rooster was sitting down . He always gets up to greet me. I picked him up and brought him in the front yard away from the other chickens. He pecked at some clover then he spit water out of his beak. His tail feathers are drooping and he is breathing out of his mouth. He will be a little bit and I gave him some 3 in 1 hydro hen. He is drinking. His comb and waddle are a good color, but the poop is dark to light green. I've lost 3 chickens already but all died of different symptoms not related. I get attached and don't want to loose another chicken. I have a lot to learn about my feathered friends. Please give any suggestions would help.

Can you post some photos of him and his poop?

He spit up water this morning - had he been drinking? What is his crop like?
Has any feed spilled and got moldy, has he had access to anything toxic?
How long ago did you lose the hens - how old were they, what happened with them?

Check to make sure his crop is empty in the morning before he eats/drinks. Look him over for lice mites too.
Is he your only rooster?
What do you feed?

No he's not my only rooster. All my chickens eat scratch and feed crumbles and free range in the same area. There's no moldy food.

My other 2 lavender got wet and cold due to poor pen roofing structure. I think they to cold. I have 2 heat lamps in a the coop.
The roof is fixed.

His crop is empty. There's no lice that I see.
He pants through his beak like he is over heated.
For some reason I can't send a picture.

Finally able to download a picture. This is Hoppy my lavender. He's a tall one.

I've treated all my birds for coccidiosis as a preventive. What worm medicine should I get? There is no vet for my birds.
I'm kind of winging it lol. I came home from work and my husband told me I lost my lavender Orpington. He said Hoppy vomited one last time and passed away 😩. Maybe he did get into some poison plant. I'm not sure.

I have 1 Moran rooster left, 2 Javas, 1road island red , 1silver laced Wyandotte all are hens and appear to be in good health.
I bought some babies 4 blue production, 2 Americanas and 2 new Hampshire reds all are pullets.
They are about 3wks old and doing well.
I really want to thank you for all your advice. It's much needed and valued. God Bless.
I'll keep you posted about my new babies if you like. Please let me know what kind of wormer you sugest and how often I should administer it.

I'm sorry to hear you lost him :hugs

Are you giving Corid now?

Fenbendazole (Safeguard) or Valbazen can be used to worm your birds. Getting a fecal float is best, but due to everyone sheltering in, that's probably not possible.

Safeguard can be found in most feed stores. Valbazen you would need to order online.
