I am very new to chickens and forums of any kind. My cornish x seem to be coming down with something bad. They are about six weeks old and my layers (various breeds) don't seem affected. I've noticed at least two of the roosters sitting with their beaks hanging open and occasionally making this loud cough/sneeze/squak. They also have diarrhea bald stomaches and labored breathing. I tried applecider vinegar with mixed results. I put elecrolytes in the water today. Its about 90 out today and they are free range, but mostly hang out under their coop or run over to the day pen to lay in there. they have easy access to clean water.
I just started noticing about a week ago then I came down with pnuemonia and was forced off my feet for the last week leaving their basic needs to my wonder loving family (some even driving an hour just to help me for a day).
The two roosters seem to be much worse than a week ago and I am worried about the other animals getting sick.
Any educated thoughts would be much appreciated! I've been reading like crazy and haven't found much. I myself am still recovering, so am limited to what I can try.
Thank you!
