I have a sick peacock….. any advice? I dewormed my flock last Wednesday with Wazine 17. I noticed gagging in my one peacock & ordered Toltrazuril, but won’t have it for another 2 days. I checked on him this morning & he is worse . I gave him a shot of Tylon 200, but can’t get him to drink any Corid water. Super worried. Any suggestions? I swabbed his throat. Didn’t notice anything, but don’t know what to look for. Did a short video to follow…..

Looks like a fungal infection. @Eggcessive, @Wyorp Rock, help?
@KsKingBee or @casportpony Can either of you give some insight? Thanks:)

Don't know anything about Peafowl, but if that were a chicken, then I would say it's Canker especially if there's a bad odor.

Metronidazole is more commonly used for treatment, but the Toltrazuril may be effective.
Acidified Copper Sulfate can also be used.
Canker is a protozoa and contagious, so treating the populations water for 3 days a month with Acidified Copper Sulfate can help keep it under control.

The bird does need to stay hydrated, so if not drinking, then tubing fluids will be necessary. Hopefully the others will chime in soon.

I have no experience with peafowl. There is peafowl forum up under Forums on this page. Several things can cause yellow plaques inside the beak and throat. Those include canker, yeast infection, and wet fowl pox. Is there a bad odor from the beak? Let us know what the vet thinks.

I have a heat lamp on him & made a vet appt, but the soonest they can get him in is 3 hours from now….. Heading to TSC to see what else I can get him…..
I don't think there is anything you can do for him between now and the vet appointment. Probably best to keep him in a warm room or cage, 80-85 degrees is ideal.
