Hi all, I have a peahen who is acting very sick. She just stands there in the hunched position. When I put food in front of her she looks at it like she's going to eat and even pecks in it's direction but she won't eat. She has been acting sluggish for a few days but just started to close one eye yesterday. And she's been getting worse. Can anyone tell me what this could be? I will keep a watchful eye on her for anything else but that's all it is right now.

Can you post some pictures of her poop?

How old is she?

When was the last time you de-wormed her and what de-wormer did you use?

Could be. If it is blackhead, @FarmFam6, you need to get metronidazole, enrofloxacin, and fenbendazole ASAP. Can you take her to a vet?
She is 7 years old. We dewormed her last spring. There isn't a vet who will see a peacock anywhere near us. We're leaning towards worms as to what it is and will be getting Vet RX, is that what you would recommend? Here are some pictures of her poops.

The green poop looks like normal cecal poop, but the white stuff is abnormal. If you want to treat for worms I suggest getting some Safeguard for goats and giving her 0.23 ml per pound of body weight orally. I also suggest placing her in a warm room (80-85 degrees is ideal). Once warm, I think you should tube feed fluids (Pedialyte) at 14 ml per pound of body weight, wait 60-90 minutes and repeat.

Vet RX is not a de-wormer, do not buy it.

Ok thank you, I will send an update if there is any change.

FYI, they really do need to be in a warm room and have fluids tubed when they are this sick. Let me know if you want to learn how to tube and I can teach you.
