Sick Pekin

One of my pekin hens has started to lose some hair on both sides of her face in patches . Ive also noticed some of her feathers don’t lay as flat as others. And she has started laying outside the duck house or in it, most of the day instead of walking to the pond. She is still eating and drinking well. I have an all female flock- 4 pekin and 4 khaki Campbell. I’ve had ducks for 8 years and have never seen this before. The pasture they are in is 7 acres with an acre pond. I clean their duck house daily and put down fresh hay and clean drinking water. They go in house at sundown and out around 730am. I feed them a good layer duck food from my local feed store. I’ve attached a photo of her face - thanks in advance for any advice y’all can give me.

Did you know that females will act like they a mating each other and will grab onto faces and eyes just like a drake will do.
How old this Pekin? Eating and drinking are good signs. If sick they usually go off feed and sometimes even water. If she is 8 yrs old she maybe just slowing down especially if the pond is a fir piece to walk to.
How does her poop look?

I haven’t been able to catch her pooping yet while I’m down there. She is 6 years old. I’ve never seen any of them grab each other’s faces - but I can see how that could happen. I got rid of my last male ab a year ago. I’ll keep an eye on her for any other changes. Thanks for your reply.

If she continues to cause you to worry you might want to bring her in so you can monitor her eating drinking and pooping.
