I have three poults that are right at three weeks old. They are on pine shaving and are eating medicated turkey starter.
One is fine. One is limping, and kind of wobbly, it was fine two days ago. The last one has been walking with its head scrunched down since it was a couple of days old.
It is also a bit wobbly and limping too.
They started out in the house and then were moved outside in a brooder with my keets. (they were all in the house together). I would turn the light on at night and off in the day because it was hot outside. Well I sold all the keets on Friday and noticed that afternoon that the second poult was limping. So today I put some powder vitamins in the water and brought them back in the house. The third one has been pooping a white substance since it hatched and it still had some today. They seem good weight wise, but the last one is smaller than the others. Please help if you have an idea of whats wrong!! Thank you

Limping would indicate that hey were piling and the ones limping would have been the ones on the bottom. Could be that the keets were piling on top of them or now the keets are gone the turkeys are piling to keep warm ??

Could be! Do you think they will get better now, or are their leggs messed up? I did see the keets on the sometimes. I don't know if when my husband was catching the keets the poult might have gotten hurt. I was thinking that, but I was wondering if there was something else since the one has been scrunched up since it was a couple of days old and pooping white stuff (very little) and now limping. It does make sense and is very possible what you said. And ideas about the third one?

Is it ok to have the vitamins and electolites(sp) in the water?

Yes the vitamins and electrolytes will help if he his not feeling good from a sickness.

They scrunch up like that because they are telling you they don't feel good/hurt.

I would also add a little vanilla flavored yogurt with live cultures.
the flora in the intestinal tract may be off a bit and the yogurt will help. please make sure there is no Aspartame or equivalent for some reason that type gives them watery poos

It seems that turkey poults will starve out without some intervention. I use vitamins in their water and besides their feed I give them cooked egg yolk and chopped up grass and clover leaves. You have to encourage some of them to eat.. I wet the feed and place on my finger to intice them.
I have had to force feed some for a few days until the light bulb came on over their head! good luck..
