I have a 9 week old RIR pullet the got ill about a week ago. She started out being weak and off by her self. As she progressively got worse, she would just sit and appear to sleep. You could just walk up and pick her up and she would not resist (totally out of character). At that time she dodn't seem to be eating or drinking. But when you would put her at the water, she would drink. Soon after I found her laying on her side in the coop. By a visual check she appeared to have died. But shen I picked her up, she opened one eye but was very weak. I removed her from the flock, and into a large brooder/cage. She, for a couple of days looked as if she was on her way out at any time. But she still would drink a little water. She now would just lie on her she with her head at a strainge angle. Legs would be extended out straight, and not have any function. I was prepared to cull but she was now eating. Now for the last two days, she is eating like a horse, drinking and has gotten more alert and stronger. She still will not stand or even sit. She just lays and eats. Her bowels are working fine and appear to be normal. The rest of the flock are just fine, with no ill signs.
I have been trying to figure out what is going on with her. I'm concerned that she has had some type of neurological issue brought on by something and if she is going to come out of this or should I just cull her. I have searched everything i can think of, and can not find any answers.
