What an evening...(be prepared for a rant). I had held out hope that maybe I would get my zucchini bread baked and some salsa started. Kitchen time was in my future!

But I woke up to a sick pullett and have been trying to diagnose her all day (with the help of BYC of course). She is still very ill and I feel terrible not being able to help

Then I talked my dh into making my worm-bin. He put some poison out in our shed (mice issues) and forgot to close it all of the way

So our beloved 7yo half chow, half golden retriever decided to make a meal out of the mouse poison

We consulted with a friend's wife, who is a vet-tech and she suggested giving him a half of cup of hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting. We soaked some bread with the peroxide and he ate it up. A half-an-hour later he had vomited all the poison up and hopefully

he will be fine.

Thanks for listening...I'm hoping for a better tomorrow!

I hope he vomited it all up! Do you have any vitamin K handy? I've heard that can help if given soon after ingestion of the poision. Good luck!

This is the very thing that scares the bejeebus out of me when it comes to getting rid of mice. We have a resident mouse that I see every now and then in my kitchen (and sometimes I just see the little "calling cards" ...

Please go have the dog examined by a vet. All he needs is a single shot and he's good to go. Really isn't worth the risk, not paying for a single shot and relieving all fears. We had a dog get into one year, didn't realize it until she began coughing blood, took her to the Urgent Care vet and they gave her a shot and sent her home. She's still happy and healthy today.
