Sick Quail?

So today, I gave my male Coturnix quail some dried mealworms, but he pecked at it and then ignored it. Usually he'd go crazy over them, and just two days ago he was fine. His feathers also look scraggly, but he's acting fine. I picked him up and his crop was empty.
Also, when I put some more food, he is excited but only eats a bit, and walks away and preens his feathers. I think he's still molting, but the main issue is his diet.
Is he sick? If so, what should I do?

Are you around any smoke from the fires?
I honestly would jump right into a scrambled egg while prepping to tube feed. I can’t imagine tubing a quail, but I swear Casportpony mentioned she had.
If nothing else, use a syringe, and aim well.

Nope, not around any smoke.
Actually, he's just acting weirdly energetic but still pecks at some food. So I'm not sure I'll tube him, I'll just keep an eye on him for the next few days.
