i have some quail who seem pretty sick. their symptoms are being drowsy and puffed up, not gaining weight, and walking very slowly. they eat and drink normally and both are male. when i let them out of their coop this morning, one of the sick quail was sleeping with its beak tucked into its body and was practically unresponsive. i used a stick to gently shoo it out of the coop, and it literally rolled over onto its back before getting up and out of the coop. that one is the sickest i think.

the other one seems slow and is puffed up but isnt as bad as the first guy. i have no idea what this is, but i had a quail who died with similar symptoms as a chick (i just assumed it was some internal problem she was born with). any help or advice would be appreciated greatly.

Pictures of them, their setup, and their poop? What are you feeding them?
sadly, when i got out, the sickest one from yesterday was dead. i took pictures of its body and the other sick one. i quarintined the wrong birds last night and left a sick one with the main flock! i think it is spreading as well; today there are more less lively birds.

poop: the quarintined one had normal poop (why i think it was the wrong bird) and the flock seems to have normal poop although i did see some diarrhea and brown liquid spots. i havent observed that too well.

theres also another bird who didnt rush out of the coop this morning which is odd because they usually all do. it came out on its own a couple minutes later though:

could it be coccidiosis or ulcerative enteritis?
the first quail i lost had white poop-- i just didnt know what it meant. now there are no white poopers but the rest of the symptoms are similar to the one who died.

I would send that dead bird in for a necropsy. It's not too expensive, and knowing exactly what you're dealing with is important if this is spreading through your covey.

Do they have any breathing issues?

@007Sean any ideas?
