Sick rooster?

Photos of his poop?

Check him over for lice/mites and make sure his crop is emptying overnight.

The crop is on the right side of the breast, you should be able to feel a lump when he's been eating and drinking, this would be normal. The crop fills as he eats and will empty overnight while he's sleeping. If it's not flat or empty in the morning, then address that symptom.

Do look inside his beak for any obstruction or yellow/white pasty material, take note of any bad odors.

The color of his comb would indicate that his oxygen level is not very good, so it's possible that he may be suffering from organ failure.
Hard to know. Just check him over really well.

Have you added any new birds in the last 30 days or have you ever had any chickens will respiratory symptoms like coughing, sneezing, mucous, etc.?

Thank you. I will check these things today. He is less than a year old. We have not had any new chickens recently, the only new thing is that I’ve allowed them to free range quite a bit more than usual. I have not seen coughing, sneezing or mucous. It looks like he tries to crow, lifts his head to do so but no sound comes out. I have not noticed anything wrong with his poop but I will look more closely for it. The other thing I have observed is he seems to drink a lot.
Thank you for the link. How would I treat for mites/lice?

Drinking a lot, do check that crop and look inside the beak.

To check for lice and mites, look through his feathers, around his vent, etc., for any bugs crawling.

Here's a good article with photos
