I am very new to raising chickens/roosters. I have a Silver Spangled Hamburg Rooster that is having some problems.
He doesn't seem to want to eat or drink. When I feed him water with a srynge he will take some, but not a lot. He seems to close his eyes a lot. Doesn't puts up minimal resistance when I pick him up. He is 3 months old. He seems to have a spot on each side of his neck that looks wounded, but there is no blood. Just looks "open". He doesn't seem to want to stand up.
I have seperated him, and have him in the house in a box with food and water, but will not eat or drink without me feeding him. I don't know if another rooster (there are 3 others) or a hen there are 13, attacked him. The only reason I would think this is the two places on either side of his neck.
I don't want to loose him, and don't really know what to do. I hope someone here can give me some advice. thank you,
Mary
