I have 1 week old runner ducklings and they have all been robust until today. I went to check on them and one was on its side, head back and not able to stand. Is this botulism? Anyone know? Anything I can do for her? What about the rest?

What are you feeding them?
Are they eating? Drinking? Pooping?
Are they too cold? in a draft? Too hot?

I am going to move this to the emergency forum for better response.

And lets see if we can figure it out.

They have appeared healthy, eating, drinking, pooping until this one. They seem comfortable, a heat lamp about 2 feet above them. Last night was cold but the heat lamp should have kept them warm enough because I lowered it. There are 11 ducklings including this sick one.

The duckling can sit up and stand, waddle, but gets shaky and seems to tilt backwards then falls. She is a bit over a week old, an Indian Runner. I started chopped greens yesterday - just dandelion greens, rinsed and chopped. Poop might be a bit runny, not bloody. I have separated it in a box, in the house. The bedding is wood shavings, not sawdust.

I have a mucovey like that right now too. Found it upside down, won't eat, will drink, but won't move at all. They can pick up all sorts of stuff, but I don't have any idea.

If you have V&E powder, add a small pinch to her water. Otherwise if you have it, give her 3 drops of Poly-Vi-Sol once a day my mouth for 3 or 4 days and see if it helps. Is this the feed?

The duckling should be on non medicated gamebird starter. Chick starter doesn't have the niacin that waterfowl needs.
You can sprinkle brewers yeast on the feed instead of the vitamins, or even ina ddition to, just don't over do it.

No, that is not what I am feeding her. This is: 6ODS Org Duck Starter Feed 50 lbs If you search it on McMurray's site, you will find it.

It isn't medicated. Do you still recommend something like Poly-Vi-Sol?
