Sick Silkie - head swaying?

Interesting! Never thought of the crop to be honest, but makes sense that it could cause a head movement to happen.....The way she moves her head doesn’t seem like it’s a conscience thing tho, more involuntary so makes me think Chicalina’s theory on neurological issue is on to something. I’d upload a video to share but can’t seem to find an option for a video upload only photo!

Now, I must say it’s not continuously like that- here’s a video of her pecking around for a bit only 5 mins before the head swaying video was taken!
Albeit, it’s more head swaying than not

The first video appears to be seizure-like movements. I would use the vitamin E for a few days to see if it helps. Was she vaccinated for Mareks disease? Could she have been pecked on her head?

It sounds neurological, but if you have a short video that could be uploaded to YouTube with a link here that would be good to see. Is she acting sleepy? The vitamin E 400 IU daily would be good. A little egg for selenium might also help. She probably needs to be separated in a dog crate so that you can observe her often.

I was told she was vaccinated... got her about 2 months ago. Pecked on the head is always a possibility .....

I recently had a silkie that had a seizure. She's a vaulted skulled silkie, so I suspect she was pecked on the head, or she bumped it on something. She doesn't have any after effects, such as head nodding like your's though.

She's the blue partridge. This picture was taken on the same day she had the seizure.

Thanks for sharing! Did yours recover and she’s alright now? Trip to the vet for injection of antibiotics and vitamins today - her current thought is that the infection has caused some nerve damage and not sure it’s reversible at this stage. however, on the bright side she’s been a bit perkier today and is eating more than before! It’s a waiting game now to see how far she recovers - another dose of antibiotics & bits tomorrow.
