I bought two silkies about 2 weeks ago. I went out to feed and noticed she is sneezing. I got to looking at her and her eyes are running and so is her nose. She is eating and drinking fine acts fine otherwise. I gave her some medicated crumbles and vitamins and electrolytes. I also put terramycin ointment on her eyes. We put a heat lamp up for her. What else should i do??? What do you think it is?? Her poop is normal

Thanks for any help Natalie

Thanks, I still don't know what it is. It sounds more like bronchitis than anything. She is away from the main flock, but she is with 4 other silkies and 2 cochins. This does not make me very happy. Not sure what to do yet. I'm tempted to cull her.

I had some chicks recently have the same symptoms and was told to get some Tylan 50 by some of the members in chat. I started the chicks on it and they seem 100% better now. Hope your chicks get better soon!!

Look up mycoplasma Gallisepticum.I had to cull 40 of my flock and now I hear one of the new ones I got sneezing. It can be as simple as sneezing or as horrible as their eye swelling up with cheesy material. Those that make it are carriers. What really got me was I had the dept. of AGG. come out and do testing and they diagnosed it.Then they said they no longer test for it and gave me the NPIP rating????Go figure. Now I dont knowwhat to do.Anybody hav any suggestions.

My hen already seems better. I don't know why she was such a mess last night, but with the meds i gave her last must have worked. Her eyes and nose are dry this morning. Not sneezing at all or as much. didn't hear it. Thanks for all your replies. Maybe it was caused by the dust from the saw my husband was using. Who knows
