My 9 week old pullet, Strawberry, is not feeling well. She hasn't acted her normal peppy self for about a week. I can't seem to connect the dots to figure out what's wrong. I really want to help her.
She started having dry pox lesions about a week and a half ago. She recently has started to act tired, sickly. She coughs probably once per minute. She was gasping a bit but that seems to happen off and on. I just gave her vitamins and realized while holding her that she has lost weight (although she is still eating and drinking some). Her poop is normal in color and consistency but much less volume than normal.
The other thing is that she is keeping her neck in all the time (???best explanation I can use???). She doesn't extend her neck at all for anything. As a result, her chest looks really puffy/bloated. I have felt for something in her crop--I think it's normal but don't have enough expertise to know for sure.
I started her on ACV water last week. The bottom line is that each day she is getting worse despite everything I am trying. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
