Sick - Tired - Lazy - or just resting??

Help! I am a new owner of 2 Speckled Sussex. They are beautiful and about 7 months old. Miss Gracie spent about an hour on two different days sitting in the outside of the coop like she would sit if she were trying to lay an egg. I have never seen a chick do this ??? She other wise is fine. I am a real green horn so you can't insult me, any ans will be appreciated.

Is the weather starting to warm up for you? If so, she may just be laying down and enjoying the warm weather and sunshine. Since she is approaching laying age, she may be getting ready to lay. I would place some golf balls or something that resembles eggs in your nest boxes as a signal for where she needs to lay.

Both of my girls have started laying. We are located in middle GA and it is 79 here today. So I guess she may have been to warm. She was in the shade both times. Do I need to install a outside roost? They are totally caged in. Thanks! for your comment.
