Sick Toulouse Goose

This year Gracie has been laying an egg maybe once every 2 days or so. I'm waiting to collect a stool sample from her.

ps.. she used to eat the dog's food all of the time. I tried tossing her some Iam's senior lrg breed kibble. Score! She gobbled it up.
Okay well at this point what ever she will eat. Mine won't touch dog kibble but my ducks and chickens love it they eat the Diamond lamb and rice. I sure was hoping casportpony would have replied by now, but if your going to take in a stool sample that's even better the vet can prescribe dose and wormer.
Keep us updated on how she is and what you find out.
Laying an egg every other day is the norm for geese so she is perfectly normal there.

Thank you again SO much! We are certainly not out of the woods but at least have a plan and I was very encouraged by her eating the kibble. She's always been alittle funny that way, preferring the dog's food over mash or pellets. It's just now the dogs gobble it up right away and don't let her in anymore.

Will let you know about the test results.

Very appreciative!!!

Gracie is starting to eat more normally. She's still not 100 percent but we are hopefully on the right track. One thing I did misspeak about was her medication...she hasn't been on metronidazole. It is albon. Her test results came back positive for coccidia so the albon has been extended for 5 more days. I can't say this was the only thing wrong, but at least we are headed the right direction.

Many thanks!!

So no parasites other than the cocci. Well at least you know now and can treat her. Sounds like she is feeling much better and getting back her appetite.

Thanks for updating.

Yes, it seems we are still coming back up to 'normal' lol...whatever that is around here. I'm looking at her right now as I type this. I just gave her a couple of tablespoons of Purina One urinary tract formula for cats....I've been pouring it into the container of lay mash/cracked corn. She seems to enjoy a little of this and that, which is normal. Still sleeping a lot. That's ok too, if that is what's required.

Thank you so much Miss Lydia and everyone here....

I know what you mean normal for us is abby normal for everyone else. Very happy to hear she is getting her appetite back and that means she is feeling better.

Gracie update...............she seems to be eating quite normally now and has started her molt. I still supplement her feed with a little kitty food. So happy she is herself again!! I don't know if I'll ever figure out what happened...could be a combination of things.

Once again, many thanks!!!
