I FINALLY located some Tylan 100, but good grief! It's for 500 gallons of water. Does anyone know the conversion for one turkey? She is full grown (6 years old), but only weighs 4.5 pounds now. I don't want to give her too much, but I don't want to give her too little either.

I'll appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Thank you sooooooo much!!! I had actually looked at the label, trying to find a phone number, but the print was so small, I missed it. (Need to get my glasses changed, I guess). Anyway, at your suggestion, I got the magnifying glass and checked again. Voila'!!!

So I've already called. The answer is 1/2 heaping tsp per gallon of water. Hooray!!!

Just pray now that it works for Rosie!!!

Thanks again.

Hope you have a GREAT EVENING and a GREAT WEEKEND!!

Hey Old Rebel.......I'm glad you found it. When I first used Tylan I had the same problem until (duh) I read the label. The person I spoke to was very knowledgeable and friendly and my chickens are now happy and healthy. I hope Rosie has the same results and I will keep both of you in my prayers tonight. Keep us posted.

My Dad is an old rebel too and I'm proud to be his daughter!

Hey Purpletree23,

Thanks soooooo much for your prayers and encouragement. We THINK that maybe Rosie has turned the corner. Her poops are small, but firm with white on the top. That's a good sign, I think.

Please keep us in your prayers. I'll keep you posted on how she is doing.

Hope you have a GREAT EVENING!!

WOW, I have never heard of a full grown turkey that small. Is it some kind of a miniature?

As far as I am aware the dosage is per weight (xxx mg per lb of weight of bird)
see here:
http://www.asp-inc.com/products/documents/prodinfo/t/tysol.pdf
Turkeys must consume enough medicated water to provide 60
milligrams of tylosin per pound of body weight per day. Only
medicated water should be available to birds being treated. Turkeys should be treated for 3 days; however, treatment may be
administered for 2 to 5 days depending upon severity of the infection.
Treated turkeys must not be slaughtered for food within 5 days after cessation of drinking water treatment...."

When you telephone the company then give the weight of your turkey and ask how much to add to the water to achieve 60 mg per lb.
