Sick turkey / paralyzed

Oh no! Can I ask why the low protein feed? Turkeys totally fell into my lap so even two years in, I have so much to learn. I work at a farm down the road where they make their own feed and devastatingly their poults weren't getting enough protein from it. They first lost the use of their legs and soon sounded like respiratory infection with wheezy breathing :( How old is she do you know?

Well I had read to use a higher protein so I started off with chicken starter. But then realized that the protein is what helps makes them so big and then makes it harder for them, and then they start growing bigger than their hearts can handle. I think that's what my vet was telling me too... That the high protein is more for turkeys that are meant for slaughter just like chickens. But maybe I'm wrong?

Well it turns out on my other thread people are telling me she def still needs a higher protein

Going back and forth on the protein issue. People have been telling me to switch to 30% but looks like she's a broad breasted that could be overweight so I need to take her off the 30%. Thought that might be the case

Ahh broad breasted...huh. I have read threads on here from people really knowledgeably helping them live much longer and even be mobile much longer than usually considered possible. I hope you hear from somebody that has experience with this...but her symptoms do sound like what the poults that I saw with too low of protein in their diet. Is she young or full-grown? Maybe I should find your other thread :)

Aww that's awesome. Great to hear because I don't want to give up on her. I really try to be optimistic. I have her on the high protein still plus the rooster booster.. I just don't know what's helping or hurting her right now as far as feed. Trying to figure out if I need to manage her weight or not. My last bb had a heart murmur and issues related to that. . I ordered a stethoscope and going to listen to her heart today. I'll possibly try to get her into the vet tomorrow. I really want to find out what I need to do. Thank you! Any resource you can find just lmk :)
