Sick Turkey.

New to turkeys and had a quick question. My Turkey is loosing feathers and the skin underneath looks scabby is there something I can do or is he molting? Any advice would be appreciated.

A bit more information is needed. How old is the bird? Is it kept with other birds? A picture would be helpful too.

Turkeys go through a couple of molts as they are growing with the last one being around 6-8 months of age. All adult turkeys should molt in the fall. Scabs can be from others pecking or fighting with the bird or even from fowl pox.

He is 6 months old and he is a white Beltsville. I will get some pictures later today. He is in with a mix of birds chickens ducks and geese. They don't seem to bother with him though. I think sometimes he is pickling at himself as well. Your information is very helpful.
