Hello everyone! I'm new to BYC and need a bit of help. I have a 6 Month Old silver laced Wyandotte. She had tape worms about a month ago and has been wormed twice with ZGold. Made a full recovery. Eating and back to her old self. Except laying. This morning she woke up lethargic, hunched over head hanging down, with a pale comb. I separated her and she's Not eating. I even made a mash of scrambled eggs, yogurt, and grit with some sunflower seeds. Poo is all white to yellow color. No mites or lice after a good inspection. Not egg bound. Felt very thin. Maybe from previously having worms. She is drinking electrolytes and vitamins in water. She is quite pitiful. Any help is appreciated. She's a sweet girl and i just don't know what else to do.

Thanks so much
- Melody

Hi :welcome Melody

Glad you could join the flock! I'm sorry to hear you have sick girl :hugs Have you treated for coccidiosis just incase its that. Having had worm and being treated she is maybe still under the weather from this too. You could drop by the emergencies injuries disease and cure section for further help with her. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/10/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures

Wishing you the very best of luck with her, I hope she is well again soon :fl

Thank you so much! I'm going to get some corrid at my TSC now. It's worth a try! Do you think I could do anything else?

You are doing all the things I would suggest and do for my own birds in the same situation. Scrambled egg and electrolyte/vitamins in the water. Keeping her seperate and quiet to rest. Barring taking her to a vet that's about it.

Welcome to the BYC flock! We are glad you joined us!

Was TSC open with it being Labor Day? I hope so. I also hope your pullet starts acting like her old self soon!

Hello! Thanks so much for the welcome! Yes TSC was open until 6. I got the Corid. But I was scared to give on the account someone told me not to unless I had a positive fecal sample for coccidiosis. She ate a little bit of scrambled egg mixture I made her. She is still very lethargic and has a bluish comb now. I'm so worried. Have her inside now resting. Thanks again for the good vibes and I just pray she makes it thru night now.

Blue comb is not good. Have you posted about her in detail at "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread. I have never heard of Zgold, I wonder if that was too much for her system - maybe a large die off of worms at once.

Have you checked to see that she isn't eggbound?

Yes ma'am. I checked her throughly for mites, lice, egg bound, respiratory issues, wounds etc. I just don't get it. I wormed her 3 weeks ago. I was hoping it wasn't the wormer. It was the only one that would kill tape worms that I could find. I only gave her a pea sized amount on bread. And I treated whole flock. she is the only one sick. The one that actually had the worm. So frustrating. I'm trying.
