Sick??

I have a five pound rooster that won't raise his head.He just stands there and lets the others peck at him with his down all most to the ground..
I put him in a gage by himself. What is the problem?? New at this and should I be worried??

Can he lift his head up? How long have you had him and is he usually head of the flock in the pecking order? I'd first check him for mites and lice and then worm him. Keep him away from the other chickens until his wound heals as chickens are cannabalistic creatures..

Look for lice/mites, might need to be wormed depending on his age.
