Sickly duck at local produce store...

Here's some new photos!

This was taken exactly one week after bringing him home:

I also put this together and flipped some of the photos for a better comparison of his one week progress:

And splashing around in his pool:

One thing I was wondering - does anybody know roughly when a Muscovy drake will lose his 'baby' voice and only be able to make those hissing sounds?

Here are some new photos:

I have read through this whole thread and you truly are one AWESOME person

Thank you so much for reporting that terrible place to the RSPCA.

You have done an absolutely WONDERFUL job at looking after Whistle's, despite being "just a chicken lady".lol.
He looks fantastically happy and healthy, thank you so much for rescuing him and taking care of him

We move in 50 days and 20 hours (you can't tell I'm excited, can you...?) so just after that. :) There's a dam on the property too, I can't wait to get him out there! :D

I keep bugging my parents about the moving date, but I know it's useless since it's a settlement date they had to sign to agree to given by the current owners of the property. -sigh-

Waiting sucks hahaha!!!
Hay, I forgot to mention. I have a few friends in Brissy ( Yes I am an Aussie ) that might be able to help you out with a few scovie girls? She may even hatch them our for you if I ask nicely

I actually have a countdown widget on my phone haha. I used to love living in the suburbs, but the fact that my neighbours house is just a few meters from ours feels so suffocating now. And I really would love my chickens and Whistles to have more room and be free range rather than just 'backyard' free range.

Hm, maybe...my only concern is if they'd be old enough to handle a drake attack when he tries to mate them...even if they hatched out now, they'd still only be about two months old facing off to a roughly eight month old hormonal drake, y'know? But if she has any older ones, we may just be interested!

I don't think they'd let him and he wouldn't be interested. Just like my rooster doesn't try and mount my pullets until they are laying but I suppose you could be right.
I will ask her and see if she has any spares

Lol, we just got done talking about how he would want to try to do it to her (Sampy), I really don't think he would care if the ducklings were too young, and they'd never stand a chance against him if he were to try. They wouldn't be able to deny him.
