I have a white crested black polish Roo. He's 13 weeks old and I recently noticed his tail is sideways. He's silly looking enough with his hippie head of feathers.
Anyone know about crooked or sideways tail feathers? He's also odd in that he loves the ducks. He stays with them and if he loses sight of them he cries. They do the same if they lose sight of him.

Polish are an odd breed, so nothing surprises me as far as their goofy behaviors. I guess I would wonder if he has a back injury, or some type of birth defect that gives him a crooked spine, but I'm just guessing.

Birth defect makes sense. He was the extra from Murray McMurray hatchery

It's called wry tail. Aside from that, he's a pretty boy. Don't let him play in the gene pool. Wry tail can be passed on.
Thank you! And I won't let him reproduce if I can help it LOL... he started crowing at 10 weeks old along with my other roo who is an Easter egg named Rocky, and twice the size of little popover..

If he does breed, his daughters will be more prone to egg problems when they get to laying age because the entire bony structure is twisted not just the tail it's self, the spine and pelvis are included.
