Siding material, ventilation, and other coop questions.

Windows do not open from the top and soffits are not open. I'll get pics this afternoon when we're not in a rush this morning. There was some pretty heavy rain with really heavy wind so I closed the windows.
Oh it seems like you’re close by me. Im in orange county, NY. The weather was nasty. Seems like there will be more on Friday...

For cheap fencing you can probably try what I do, cheap pvc roll up fencing with step in posts, my pullets can jump over it, but they don’t, especially if you block their view to large clearings etc. if you dont mind the opaque aesthetics, silt fencing is even cheaper, and tends to be opaque, which prevents the chickens from wanting to reach something beyond the fence

Outside pics of what I think are soffits?-because of the roof overhang it was hard to get a pic. The white on the end is the roof trim that overhangs, and the board you can see on the top is what I believe is the actual soffit bit.

The inside pics are better. @aart is this what you were looking for in pics?

Bummer.
That piece of wood is probably not easily removed,
plus parents probably wouldn't agree to removal.
I agree with both of those points. Would that be the spot to drill holes for cross ventilation on both sides? Can you drill holes?
