I have read that some people sift crumble before they feed it to their chickens to minimize the dust, I was curious does this actually help? I want to switch to pellets but my DH can't bare to watch a chicken starve... "CAN'T YOU SEE THEY DON'T LIKE IT, THEY ARE SO HUNGRY" soooo I'll have to wait to switch them until he is out of town

My problem is that my metal gravity feeders seem to get full of dust so the actual crumble won't move down...is this typical? will the sifting help this? I have to shake and scoop so much crumble out, it's such a waste. And one more question- Please tell me pellets aren't this dusty!!!????!!!

They aren't as dusty, but there is still dust at the bottom of the bag. Pellets may have a harder time moving down the feeder due to their larger size, but sifting dust from the crumbles should help.
