Got a call from the school today telling me DD got into a fight with another student and she was being sent home for today and the next couple days.

DD has been having trouble with around 4 of her classmates. They were outside and DD was crumbling some snow in her hand and this other student told her to not throw her diseased snow on them. That was the straw that broke the camels back. DD grabbed this other student and threw them to the ground. DD's friend stepped in to break it up and DD in her anger shoved her friend away causing them to fall to the ground.
DD has apologized to her friend, but I told her she has to write an apology letter to her friend. I had told her at the start of the week that she needed to tell her teacher and the principle what was going on.
Earlier one student took another's mouthpiece and put it in DD's bag and when this other student looked for the mouth piece the student who put it in DD's bag told them she stole it. Luckily 4 of her classmates had seen what happened and told them that she had not taken it.

We had a long talk with her about her actions today. She admits that she did handle this situation badly. Has been telling me that she wants to go to a different school because she hates it at this school.

DD goes back on Monday. Will see how things go.

I'm sorry to hear about this tough situation. It always amazes me how cruel some kids can be to others, and it makes me sad when bullied kids can't have fun at school because of a horrible few.

[IMG]Sorry to hear about that. Fighting is never the answer to bulling; but remaining calm is extremely difficult. Its very good that she has friends at school that will stand up for her.

Ignore the bullies, as much as possible. Its like a Chinese finger puzzle: the harder you pull (or in this case, push) the worse it gets.

Here is a video that you may like.

In the meantime, just don't spend all week worrying about it.
    Good luck.

Like Captain America said: "I don't like bullies; I don't care where they're from" I've been bullied my whole life, so I know how it feels like

Just got DD's report card today. Her grades have dropped. On the last performance test she was right up there with Average to Above Average range.
She is talking about going to vet school. Which I want her to follow her dreams but she needs better grades.

I know the bullying is affecting her studies. I did check out home schooling, but you have to be smarter then your child! LOL!!!!!! She is much better at math then I ever was.

Going to see how this week goes and then decide if she stays there or we look at transferring her to a different school.

Homeschooling is AWSOME!!!! And you don't really have to be smarter than your child, just pretend to be ;)

Went in and talked with the teacher. The teacher and counselar both talked with DD's classmates and told them that what was going on and being said was flat out mean and their actions and words to her were not going to be tolerated.

DD said things were better at school. She was apologized to by the bully.

Teacher said she was wondering if DD's disability was one of the reasons the kids were saying she has a disease and asked permission to talk to the class about it. DD has left hemiparesis. So she has a paralisis on her left side. (DD has been in therapty for years to help her deal with it.) I printed off a bunch of information for the teacher to explain to the class what is going on with DD.

Explained to DD even if she wanted to go to a different school there is always going to be people she is not going to get along with and school is only for a short time and she will be out of school longer then she is in school dealing with these kids.

I think you're on the right path... they don't understand what your DD is dealing with.
