Had a friend who raised parrots; she finally got her Blue and Gold Macaws to lay eggs. This was a major accomplishment (took five years) and three eggs were laid.
She kept them under the parents and two hatched. Four days later when the third hadn't, she removed it, figuring it was infertile. She was going to toss it but was also busy cooking dinner so she laid the egg on the counter next to the warm range.
Came into the kitchen after dinner carrying the dishes and saw the egg rocking and starting to hatch.
i know what your going through i have 2 BR left to hatch and its going on day 22 i broke away some of the shell near the beak to give them better supply of air since the pip was so small and i was worried i wish they would hatch already so i can put them in brooder with siblings the bator really smells
Thanks!!! They are SO adorable and fluffy. I am really pleased with them; even though they do have the wrong number of toes. Most have 4 toes, but a few have 5 toes with the extra toes "fused" with the 4th toe.
