how do you tell if you never catch them in the actual act of egg eating? my girls were attacked in oct. and molted shortly after...no eggs AT ALL in the following months and still none. But the nest boxes have been sat in very recently and their combs are getting red again.....could they be laying and consuming my breakfast before i even get to the coop?

possibly. When my birds were eating their eggs there was ALWAYS a trail

of yolks. All on the floor, the nest boxes EVERYTHING. But hey, you never

know, they may also be keeping a secret stash of eggs somwhere...

i have been looking and looking for a stash and no luck...no yolk or eggshells though either...i think they honestly have not laid in four months!!!

Are they in a stress free erea? Stress can make them stop laying.

Also the cold and daylight hours can also stop it....maybe it's just the winter?
