Silence Is Not Golden Here

Well. If I were capable of being speechless, I would be... but, I'm not.
You should probably learn to party.
I mean, I'm heading towards 40 and I'm going to a party. A family party! My fam knows how to party. Perhaps a little too much :)
Haha. I don’t like parties much but after getting married, you kind of have to make an appearance at all the BBQ’s and birthday parties.. husband has an enormous family. :th

I am my own party. I'm dancing in Club Kiki right now. Who knew headphones were this much fun.

I'll have to ask Google what exact song I'm listen too. Diamonds shine bright club mix of some kind.

I have a Welsummer hen than lays eggs like that a lot. They are lovely and speckled when moistened and chalky when dry. She's pretty old but otherwise very healthy. I doubt it is a reason for concern :)

Thank you! She really isn’t the smartest bird so we were wondering. :)

Here is where she demands to be today. :he

This could have been written by my mom.

He's not a Mexican is he?
Nope. Full blooded pasty ginger cowboy. His dad’s side is small like my family.

His mom’s side is like 3 families out on the ranch with cousins and uncles and aunts and grandparents and “brothers” that grew up showing cattle with them all... and all of them are impatiently waiting for the next generation.
*cough*

So one of my Cuckoo Marans has been off and on laying this type of egg. It is always super rough textured also. Does this mean there is something wrong reproductively? FWIW none of her eggs have seemed to develop under our broody or in my little experimental incubator. She’s a psycho bird who loves to get herself stuck in places and be a fake broody so her name is Defective. :gigView attachment 1455496 View attachment 1455497 View attachment 1455498 View attachment 1455500
Could she possibly be eating too much oyster shell?

I guess it’s possible she could be. We have been mixing some, not a lot, into their layer feed because we didn’t have a separate way to feed it but I was actually going to work on that today since we are going to be integrating our younger flock soon.
