Silence Is Not Golden Here

Are you for real? You incubate your eggs for balut? Do you sell it? And why are you waiting for a pip if you want balut. Maybe I'm confused about what balut is.
no no no...
I am hatching eggs that were bought from a Vietnamese grocery store...sold as balut.

I'm super curious what type chickens you all keep and do you breed/ hatch your own. Just for eggs, meat, do you sell, show, etc... I've got a small (well started that way - I'd say it turned into a healthy medium size thanks to chicken math) mixed backyard flock just for eggs and fun. They have quickly become my absolute favorite hobby. And everyday I have to talk myself out of getting a rooster. :rant
No chickens for me :( I’m not allowed to keep them in my town.
I currently have quail though, I keep them because they are fun to watch and I like their eggs and meat. They’re also pretty quiet, except for the random rooster calls lol but even those are quiet compared to a chicken rooster.

Right now I have zero chickens. I had to relocate my flock when Harvey smashed my coop.
My new chicks will be shipping on the 11th, they’re just because I love them as animals and as a hobby that gets me outside.
I don’t even like eggs. :caf

Well good

Oh wow! That takes some skill I bet. Are you like the hatch master?

Whatcha cooking?
Sausage, eggs and pancakes. I am so stuffed. And happy.

DD and Fiancé came for breakfast, swap cars and talk weddings. I've gotten her down to $25,000 to elope. I'm waiting to hear how much the groom's father is willing to pitch in. The wedding budget is up to $2,500. Still in negotiation. Wish me luck. :fl

Checked on the garden and the chickens. The sunflowers are yellowing and the chickens love them already. I believe they are a hit.

Sounds like venison and gravy tonight. Served on a bed of quinoa. Fresh cucumbers and tomatoes on the side. May become lunch, though. Follow up with cake, sorbet and maybe cherry pie filling. I need to cook that bag of carrots too...

I didn't even know what balut was until I accidentally bought the eggs for a taste test.
I think post one explains:

I keep columbian rocks, Easter eggers, cuckoo marans, mixes of those breeds that I hatched, and a Wyandotte. Mine are pets, because I’m allergic to eggs :(

WHAT!
Quail make loud noises?
I'm going to be in big trouble.
