I posted about my new found bantam rooster in the Identify that chicken forum, and I know for a fact that a rooster crows BEFORE they get their back talons. Yet mine is very quiet, barely even cheeps unless he's hungry or thirsty. Any ideas why? Is he bred with a species of chicken that doesn't crow or something?

I think their called spurs. The big claws on the back of their legs that most rooster fighters put metal blades on. Those things.
