Over the past 4 days I have lost a total of 4 ducklings & 2 chicks(tonight). The ducklings that were lost were pekins and a Buff, these were good sized babies, outside without a light at nights. the chicks that were taken tonight were 5 month old cochins.... including our favorite frizzle

whatever is getting them is snatching them in mere seconds. literally one squalk and it's over. Tonight it took 2 cochin pullets at once and ripped another open. no feather trail from where it got them but plenty of feathers under the house where it took them. i couldn't see any definite footprints tonight but maybe in the morning. I don't think it's too big(definitely not coon-size) considering the hole it squeezed through.
I did set a small live trap with some chicken in it for tonight but it's an old trap with a touchy trigger so im not sure how well it'll work. fingers crossed though.
