Silkie age and sex

Supposed to be around 4 months or so..agreed? And pretty much non-existent comb, big round poof, & very timid/mellow so I believe it’s a she, correct?

Yep, looks like a pullet, and 4 months old seems about right. She has interesting coloration-- it looks like maybe white crested black Polish is somewhere in her ancestry, although her feathers are nice and silky.

Lol that’s just the way the light was hitting her when I took the pic, she’s all black with a tiny bit of brown around her neck. One of her hatchmates was brown

Cool, I guess looks can be deceiving! She is a nice looking Silkie.

She’s a doll ! They are such a fun bird , I have 3 hens and a rooster. The black ones are terrible to try to photograph

Enjoy her but I’d advise trimming her cheeks and head puff so she has clear vision, also trim her toe nails as they don’t wear them down .

I just trimmed her crest today so she could see. She was missing her food and treats after I did, I think because now she can actually see correctly & her depth perception is off since it’s different without all the fluff lol
