Silkie and egg laying?

My silkie is 8-9 months. will she start to lay in spring?

The shortening day light period may very well keep her from laying until spring. Of course then she will probably lay 10 eggs and go broody.

oh yes, I know about the broody. I got my first egg from one of my other hens (different breed) and well it was tiny and jokingly i went Baby girl (my silkie) is this yours and she started jumping and peeping. It was adorable so cant wait to see her reaction to her own egg.

Both mine started a few weeks ago and they are 6 months.

Both are stealth layers and I’m still trying to train them to use the boxes.
