First hatch for me first baby was quite clean when hatched, this baby came out kinda bloody & with a funny shaped head ? I know when human babys are born thier heads are still kinda moldable is it the same for chicks?

Not to sure about that but i dont think they should be like that. It also looks as if it still has a vain outside of it.
*ETA that doesn't look like a good sign to me.

Chicks heads can remold. I'm assuming the little bloody thing hanging out back is the umbilical cord. It's hard to say why his little head is shaped like that. Brain and skull anomalies do happen.

I think it will be alright. Sometimes they do bleed alittle as they draw up the yolk and vessels,Was it helped out of it's shell?.Let us know how it's doing tomorrow.
That second picture though about made me sick.

I'll tell you right now, I don't know much about silkies.
However many silkies have vaulted skulls, including your baby here.
His crest should be a bit larger.

Was it helped with hatching?

That's what I was thinking about the head and nothing to worry about. From what I can see it has a vaulted head which is common in silkies

The only helping was by 2 other hatchmates rolling it a little in the bator! this is my first hatch this one just looked a little differant from the 2 others guess will have a bigger poof then they will

will update in the morning!

hatchmates are running amuck in there!
