Hi could someone help my little silkie beak is not right. Is there a was to trim it or is it a lost cause thanks for your import

looks like you can file the top down some and she will be able to close her mouth a bit better. they have a blood vein like their nails do. a lot of people trim the beaks with dog clippers and then file but i have not had to do this yet. a cinder block in their run and they will some what do it themselves.

That's such a good idea about the cinder block Iam so afraid to hit the blood line but it needs to be done
 
I had a hen like that. I used pruning shears to reshape it. I lopped off straight, then carefully shaped the sides a bit. This was my first and only experience and one side did bleed because when I was cutting she moved her head. Dipped her beak in flour and the bleeding stopped. The beak will grow back.

How much are you should take off will its beak ever be normal
 
Don't take off much or you'll hit the vein. My hen's grew back within a few months. I've since sold her.
