Hi all! So I bought 5 new chicks a couple of months ago from a local farm. They were different ages, between 1 and 3 weeks.
(I know this isn't ideal but whatcha gonna do???

Any way.... I got a silver laced wyondotte, a golden laced wyondotte, a white silkie, a light brahma, and an auracana. The golden laced really seems to be bothering the silkie... Like a lot. She will walk over to the little thing, pick at her feathers, and then repeatedly peck at her head. Whenever she is finished punishing Pearl, Pearl almost starts to twitch her head. It only lasts for 2-3 seconds, but I'm worried. I have noticed that this batch of babies is much more aggressive than my first.
Please help.

Some breeds of chickens are more aggressive, silkies are not, they tend to be docile and susceptible to bullying.I would remove the "bully" for a couple of days, then when reintroduced the pecking order should change. I have my silkies in with my orpingtons, both docile breeds. If you decide to get her a friend or two, quarantine new chicks, this prevents any medical issues from contaminating your entire flock.
