I am looking for for the light grey and the dark grey Silkies. How do I get these? Someone told me that if I breed a black and a white I could get these. Is this true?

Or if you have this particular color, do you have eggs for hatching? What exact color would you call these? Thanks!!

I would read up on the gray color pattern for Silkies in 1) ABA Bantam Standard and at the American Silkie Bantam Cub web pages.

I thought the he was young enough not to breed but much to my surprise when we hatched eggs this yr. we had 1/2 silkies 1/2 cochins. OMG. and they are cute. We never even saw him active.

My husband is the silkie person, he had them as a kid. I guess I'm not since we have lost 2 out of 3. Oh my! Anyway as an anniversary present I was going to try to get some GREY'S.

Someone told us that the big Grey was a Blue, do they have those?

Yes they have blue! lol He is kinda blue. Looks like he has some lighter color in his wings.
Blues are really pretty. Some are all a darker color and others are a darker blue over a lighter blue. Andalusian?

when you order from ideal you have to be careful. Hatcheries wont always give you grey. Grey, blue and partridge might get mixed in together. So be careful from ordering from a hatchery
