Silkie Breeding

Talk to Destiny, Amy Phiel here on the board. She's got nice blacks and is downsizing right now.

Sorry Robin...all the extras were posted for sale last september already and sold out within a couple weeks. I think I may finally have my incubator back in working order too. Nothing much is laying much due to winter, but all eggs I do get are going in for now. Putting lots of birds in the growout pens this year and weeding out the 3-4 year old breeders this fall.

Check out the black silkie thread...lots of good info on there. There is also a great book out by Sigrid Van Dort that encompasses almost everything silkie related.

Definitely agree with the previous posters..... Start over with a good trio and then go from there. I think Aimee Crego posted on FB recently that she still might have a few really nice ones available.

I am now gonna buy a pair or trio from the same stock looked over documents i had and found the boy her hatchery mom was bred to was cj silkies stock so i might buy a couple from cj and try breeding from there.
