I'm back from holiday now! Internet is back on as normal so I can get back to replying.

I get my pictures with a lot off patients...chicks don't always want their photos taken

That is what I do though, I just pop them on the grass in my garden and I crawl around the floor or do some weird position to get a decent photo!

The blurred background is just how my camera takes it when I focus on a certain thing. I have a Canon 450D with a long lens which it's been a pretty decent camera.

I have more photos which I will share later on!

I bathed Princess Poof and gave her a haircut while you were away. She can see a lot better now. She was actually up on the roost with everyone else instead of down on the floor alone, so I think I did the right thing.

Aw yes I'd say you've made the right decision. She'll be far better when she can see properly! Did she enjoy her bath?

I don't know that "enjoyed" would be the right word. I'm hoping if I have to do it again in the future she's less freaked out. I think she might have liked the blow drying part though, since she didn't try to run away from it. I was really scared she'd hate me afterwords, but she seems about the same. None of my chooks have been the same since my tree murdering neighbor came over and chopped a bunch of our trees down and used his chainsaws and leaf blowers and tractors and stuff all day long. They're all freaked out. Princess Poof used to come up and hop into my lap. Now she runs if I put my hand towards her.

That's one advantage to having chicks under a broody rather than in an incubator. if they hatch while you're gone, the momma will take care of them/you don't need to be there.

Aw no, probably all the noise from your neighbors has frightened them. I'm sure they'll come around eventually and be back to normal.

Some chickens take to bathing, some don't. I know my partridge is iffy on the bath but she definitely enjoys the blow dry!

Yes that's true, she kept them warm till I was home. They're now in the brooder under a lamp with my other Silkie chicks. I've got another 4 due to hatch on Wednesday.

I've got 15 chicks all together (3 which I bought but don't I'm selling them on) and I've got a few people asking about them.

I never knew selling chicks would be so tiring

Someone's traveling over 5 hours to get some of my white chicks and the 3 golds that I bought.
