Silkie chick question

I just had one hatch in my incubator and the silkie chick from my partridge only has 4 toes its only 8 hours old though And both parents have 5 toes on each foot so does the 5th toe on a silkie grow ater or whats the dealio?

No, it is just gonna have 4 toes, some are born with less than 5, if you show chickens you wouldn't show that one, other than that no biggie

I have a gorgeous black chick that hatched with 4 toes on each foot, the only one to do so out of a hatch of 7. She is going to a great pet home

I have had a few hatch with 4 on each foot or just one foot and than a fewer with more than 5 toes

. But they still are great egg sitters and great pets.

When they are first hatched and are really small, sometimes two toes are really close together and looks like 4 toes. Check again a little later!
